Keep out of reach of children. Retract the nib when not in use. Use Pilot fountain pen ink (cartridge ink or bottled ink). When changing ink, part A of the writing body with the nib may become stained with ink. (This does not affect performance.) When changing the cartridge, hold part B. Cleaning the writing body After prolonged use, the ink passage may become clogged with ink residue. Clean the writing body occasionally by immersing it in clean water. *Please do not clean the head or barrel, as this may cause malfunction. Regarding extending and retracting the nib Please extend and retract the nib gently. If you repeatedly knock the knob or suddenly return the knob to its original position while extending or retracting the nib, the ink may flow more freely than necessary, causing the writing to smudge. When using for the first time, pull out the empty cartridge provided, insert a new cartridge, and then gently pinch the center with your fingers to send ink to the nib before use. When changing cartridges, please do so with the nib facing upwards to prevent ink from spilling.
