Sally Ann Lambert began illustrating children's books in 1984, becoming a "picture book author." This came during her final year of university when she was approached by Pavilion Books in Covent Garden, England. This marked a turning point, leading to her illustrating in the UK and the US, and launching her worldwide career. She also holds a high ranking in the New York Times' children's picture book rankings. Some of her card series include poems by her mother, Maureen, making them even more heartwarming.
