Tasotti is a family-owned company located in Bassano del Grappa, a city in the Veneto region (capital: Venice). For over 50 years, they have been producing a wide range of unique and high-quality printed paper products in their own factory. Most of their products use original patterns from the Tasotti Art Prints historical archives. Tasotti's decorative papers are known worldwide for their versatility. Printed on ecological, acid-free paper using lithography with highly lightfast, environmentally friendly inks, they are particularly suitable for elegant gift wrapping, bookbinding, decoupage, and box making. The Limondini Family of Bassano: Between 1657 and 1861, Bassano was world-famous for the remarkable printing business of the Limondini family. In the 1700s, they had more than 18 letterpress printing shops, more than 24 intaglio printing shops, and more than 1,000 employees. The main products were religious books, general printed materials, wallpaper, and bookbinding, and the company had a sales network through merchants not only throughout Europe but also in Russia and America. The decline of the Venetian Republic cast a shadow over the Limondini family, and in 1861, their large-scale business activities, which had lasted for 200 years, came to an end. The business was dissolved and sold off to various factories. Regarding decorative paper, Bassano's techniques were passed on to Varese (Lombardy, capital: Milan), which in turn formed the basis of Carta Varese. Revival of the paper industry in Bassano: In 1957, Giorgio Tassotti attempted hand-color printing, reviving the activities of the old Limondini family in Bassano. By the 1970s, more than 2,000 products, including decorative paper, paper objects, greeting cards, and art prints, were listed in the catalog.
