Caran d’Ache 849 Ballpoint Pen, Monogram
This is a limited-edition 849 ballpoint pen, a collaboration between Caran d'Ache and Itoya. The Itoya logo is laid out all around the pen, and the red clip stands out against the monochrome body. The 849 series of retractable oil-based ballpoint pens is a long-selling model and a symbol of the Caran d'Ache brand. The pen barrel, with its pencil-like shape (hexagonal) and thickness, fits comfortably in the hand, and the lightness of the click and the quiet sound it makes give a very elegant impression. The moderate weight and smooth ink flow provide a comfortable writing experience. A ballpoint pen works by sending ink to the ball at the tip for writing. Caran d'Ache's Goliath refill has five ink paths, which subdivide and deliver the ink to the ball. Despite being an oil-based ballpoint pen, it is less prone to ink buildup, providing an extremely smooth writing experience. The refill can be replaced by turning the click button to the left.
