[DUTCH MASTERS] The Dutch Republic, which declared independence from Spain during the Eighty Years' War (1568-1648), became the wealthiest nation in Europe at the time, and a leading power in trade, learning, and art. The chaos of war and the large-scale migration of the population brought about a major transformation, destroying the previous monarchy and Catholic traditions, which resulted in remarkable achievements in Dutch art. "DUTCH MASTERS" is a collection dedicated to the masters of the Dutch Golden Age. The ink colors are named after the painters of the corresponding works. "Woman in Blue Reading a Letter" circa 1665 P. W. Ackermann is a stationery store founded in The Hague, Netherlands in 1910. Its wide selection and deep knowledge have made it famous not only in the Netherlands but also overseas, and in 2010 it became a purveyor to the Royal Family. The long-necked ink bottle has a glass ball inside, like a soda bottle, and is designed to hold ink at the top. This practical design eliminates the need to submerge the pen nib all the way to the bottom of the bottle and makes it easy to use even with a small amount of ink remaining.
